OUR THEOLOGICAL STATEMENT
Because we believe in the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ as set forth in the New Testament, we witness to His words found in Luke 44:18-19:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because God has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. God has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
And realizing that “God is our peace and has broken down the wall of partition between us” (Ephesians 2:14), we strive in our ministries to break down barriers by serving others without regard for person or circumstances.
Recalling that Philippians 2:5 admonishes us to “Let this mind be in you, that is also in Christ Jesus,” we seek to perform our ministries in a spirit of servanthood and trust.
Recognizing that “the strong must bear the infirmities of the weak” (Romans 15:1), we further seek to bear one another’s burdens through the ministries of encouragement, care, comfort, and unconditional love under the direction of God’s Holy Spirit.
Webster-Rock Hill Ministries was officially chartered on August 21, 1982, to provide assistance to the elderly, unemployed, people with disabilities and people with low incomes. Concerned citizens, ministers, and community residents organized the agency so that neighbors and church members would be assisted effectively and efficiently.
A non-profit organization, Webster-Rock Hill Ministries is financially supported by contributions from private donors, businesses, community organizations, fundraising events and contributing churches.
Webster-Rock Hill Ministries is an agency designed for the purposes of:
• Meeting the emergency needs of low income persons in the community.
• Acting as a clearing house for churches by maintaining files on persons receiving services in order to avoid duplication and assure that those who are most needy receive help.
• Providing information and referral to clients, churches and agencies.
• Assisting people to seek new options and alternatives toward a higher quality of life.
• Building an awareness of poverty and social problems that exist in our community.
• Building community among all the residents of the area served.
Webster-Rock Hill Ministries is staffed by one part-time Director and 30 plus volunteers. Our volunteers are the backbone of W-RHM. They provide intake services to our clients, bag food, office assistance, and program assistance. We are also fortunate to have many individuals and groups who assist with special projects.
We are proud of the services we provide and are grateful to the volunteers and others who share in our journey. For more information on how you can help in our mission to our community see the Program and Services Page.
