The services provided by Webster-Rock Hill Ministries are available to current residents of Webster Groves or Rock Hill, and to those who are members of supporting churches, regardless of residence.

Food Security

Food Pantry

WRHM provides both perishable and non-perishable food items, grocery store vouchers, and referral to other food resources to alleviate hunger in our community.

Our food pantry is open from Monday through Friday from 9 am to 12 pm. We’re also open every 2nd Saturday of the month from 9 am to 12 noon.

Each Holiday Season, WRHM’s Thanksgiving Basket and Christmas Adopt-a-Family programs provide families in need with a traditional holiday meal and presents for children.

Over 150 families are served each year. Please join with your friends, family, school, community and church groups to sponsor one of our families in need.

Health and Hygiene

Personal Care Items

Low income families often have difficulty maintaining an adequate supply of personal care and hygiene products.

WRHM provides clients with access to personal care items, including personal care products like hair care items, soap, deodorant, shaving needs, and feminine hygiene products.

Prescription Drug Assistance

We have limited funds available to provide assistance to those who cannot afford their prescription medications. In order to receive assistance, you must have a current prescription from a qualified medical professional.

Nursing Consultations

Because your health matters, WRHM has partnered with Christ Lutheran Church of Webster Groves and Mercy Neighborhood Ministries to provide consultations with a nurse at the Ministries offices at 111 East Waymire, Webster Groves, MO 63119.

Our visiting nurse is typically available during the first Fridays of the month.

Laundry Detergent

WRHM provides limited quantities of laundry detergent to clients. Even if you have regular access to water and dryer, laundry is expensive. Detergent is one of the reasons for the high cost of laundry and it is ineligible for purchase in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

Community Radio Station

KWRH-LP Radio operates to showcase local talent, voice issues of local importance, create a richer understanding and unity among residents, while enhancing the vibrant spiritual and emotional health of the community.

Community Garden

There are several plots available for community use on the grounds of WRHM. Neighbors interested in maintaining a garden plot can sign up each spring to receive a plot assignment.

MLK Celebration and Essay Contest

Each year, on the Sunday evening preceding the MLK National Holiday, our community hosts a march, dinner reception, and community-wide celebration and worhsip service in honor of the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr.

Also, the community planning committee sponsors an essay contest for children and youth.

Every Thursday a volunteer attorney from Legal Services of Eastern Missouri comes to our office (111 East Waymire Avenue, Webster Groves, MO 63119) to meet with clients about legal issues.

WRHM maintains a free lending library in the lobby of our building. We heavily focus on books for children and youth, but there are selections for readers of all ages and reading levels.

WRHM matches our clients with home furnishings and appliance needs with those in the community who have gently used furniture and appliances to give.

Clothing Closet

Clothing is available for clients for all ages at our clothing closet. Items change seasonally and come in a variety of styles and sizes.

We typically have good supply of clothing for children and youth, including outerwear.

Utility Assistance

WRHM assists clients with emergency utility assistance to prevent the suspension of water, gas or electrical service.

Our assistance program is funded by Ameren Dollar More Program, Laclede Gas Dollar Help, H20 Help to Others, and from our own funds.

Clients in need of home maintenance or small repairs are matched with volunteers to perform needed tasks.

These tasks may include routine home maintenance, such as painting, yard work, and weatherproofing, or more advanced projects.

Birthdays are a time for celebration. Every child should have the opportunity to celebrate their birthday.

Through our birthday outreach program, client families are provided with supplies to bake a birthday cake and children of client families are provided with a birthday gift.

William Yandell Tutoring Program

When school is in session, the Williamm Yandell Tutoring program meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 pm until 5:30 pm to provide students with homework assistance, computer and WiFi access.

Tutors are available for students of all grades and academic abilities.

Bell Park Summer Camp

Each Summer, WRHM sponsors a seven week Summer camp open to children ages 5-12. Camp programs include field trips, speakers, games, crafts, food and fun.

Campers experience some high-energy excitement and unexpected surprises each summer with different sports, arts and science themed activities combined with spiritual training.

Back to School Backpack Program

Going back to school is a lot more fun when you know you have the tools you need to learn. In the weeks leading up to the start of school, WRHM distributes backpacks to students in need of school supplies.

These backpacks are filled with grade-level appropriate materials, including notebooks, paper, pencils, pens, crayons, three-ring binders, and much more.

Rose Wallis and Marsalek Scholarship Funds

Each year, WRHM awards scholarships to students pursuing post-secondary educational opportunities from the Rose Wallis Scholarship Fund and the Edith W. and John S. Marsalek Memorial Scholarship Fund

Students who have completed high school are encouraged to apply for an award from these scholarship programs.

4-H Club

The official 4-H emblem is a green four-leaf clover with a white H on each leaf standing for Head, Heart, Hand, and Health. In 4-H, kids complete hands-on projects in areas like health, science, agriculture, and citizenship, in a positive environment where they receive guidance form adult mentors and are encouraged to take a proactive leadership roles.

Each Wednesday while school is in session,students gather for fun games with friends and chess instruction provided by the St. Louis Chess Club. Instruction is tailored to each student’s skill level.
